Improved design

The Persiana Barcelona, or Barcelona roller blind, is an improvement on the traditional slatted roller blind, an iconic feature of Mediterranean architecture that has become part of the collective imaginary. With meticulous attention to detail and quality finishes, its redesign optimizes both the geometry of its slats, and the resistance and durability of the wood

Handcrafted to measure, the Barcelona roller blind offers new features and functions that make it more versatile and attractive for a wide variety of contemporary architecture projects.

Positions and comfort

Easy to handle and very versatile, our outdoor roller blind adapts to all kinds of situations and weather conditions to improve comfort inside the spaces where it is hung.

Vertical position

In a vertical position, the Barcelona roller blind guarantees privacy and provides protection from solar radiation, creating a cool, comfortable ambience, darkening the space and helping to maintain a pleasant indoor temperature.

Slanting position

In a slanting position, the Barcelona roller blind enables views of the outside while filtering the natural light that shines in. Thanks to the geometry of its slats, it provides protection from rain without restricting the passage of air and so ensuring good ventilation.

Horitzontal position

In a horizontal position, the Barcelona roller blind becomes a roof of wooden slats that can take the form of a pergola or awning. Take a look at the projects and personalized solutions to find the inspiration you need.

Sustainability and quality

The Barcelona roller blind is made using locally-sourced, high-quality materials that guarantee the product’s great resistance and durability, improving on the characteristics of the traditional outdoor roller blind.

Wood

Throughout history, wood, with its excellent capacity for insulation, has been a recurrent material in the construction of all kinds of sun protection systems. In today’s context of climate crisis, its use in construction actively contributes to combating global warming.

The Barcelona roller blind is made of wild pine wood from the communal forests of Soria, sustainably managed by local artisans. This species is characterized by the hardness and mechanical resistance produced by its slow, dense growth, which makes it ideal for outdoor roller blinds.

Paint

The Barcelona roller blind is finished with an eco-friendly water-based, solvent-free paint designed using advanced technology for outdoor wood. Applied by immersion in multiple layers, this paint impregnates and protects the wood from moisture and solar radiation, preventing discoloration and flaking, and preparing it to withstand outdoor conditions.

Nautical rope

The Barcelona roller blind is rolled up with nautical rope, similar in colour and texture to the traditional hemp cord often used in roller blinds, but much stronger and longer-lasting.

Unique colours chart

The unique colour chart of Persiana Barcelona is inspired by the chromatism of the city. The 13 shades that make it up come from the blinds and joineries of famous Catalan Art Nouveau façades in Barcelona, and the woods of the country’s most common trees.
